A Bit About Me

God knew I needed a big backyard, so I was born a ranch kid in the Flint Hills of Kansas. Literally, I had thousands of acres to explore and I most often did it from horseback. My mom may have been surprised at hours I spent outdoors invested with horses. They were my best friends, a personal challenge and lifelong passion. After a lot of begging, I got my first barrel horse when I was twelve and learned to tie goats. I spent hours reading, highlighting and then going to the barn and trying the expertise found in articles written in the Western Horseman magazine.  My network of friends is based largely on the background I forged in the agriculture and rodeo communities.

As a mom, the thing that makes me most proud is that my God-loving boys are pursuing their dreams and living life to the fullest, complete with a lot of adventures.

Clinton is a cow-guy. He loves cows. He has judged cattle shows across north America and raises pure bred Angus cattle. Even his "real job" focuses on cows.  He is a livestock specialist for a Kansas extension district where he spends his work-day talking to people about - you guessed it - cows.

Cash is a Dean's list college student in Texas on a rodeo scholarship where the members of his "fraternity" wear cowboy hats.  His rodeo career takes him exploring the country where he is collecting a lifetime of stories and friends as a PRCA tie-down roper.

I met Cory Fuesz, Colorado cowboy turned Kansas rancher, during the NFR in Las Vegas.  Our livelihood is ranching. We own and operate a cow/calf operation and take in summer grass cattle.

Armed with a degree in journalism and a certificate from the Grantsmanship Training Center, I have dedicated my life to telling stories.  Whether it's writing a grant to gather funding for a rural community or digging a little deeper into understanding people, my personal goal has always been, "Make a Difference."
